Papaya Banana Honey Smoothie (sugar free and fat burning smoothie)

Today as usual I had no time to sit and have breakfast as I was busy making a model for my daughter’s Science Exhibition. So I thought of giving myself a quick sweet treat which is also an amazing fat burning smoothie i.e. Papaya Banana Honey Smoothie.

Do you know which fruit was called the”fruit of the angels” by Christopher Columbus?? It’s none other than deliciously sweet Papaya. I love papaya and use them in my smoothies whenever I get a chance.

Apart from the ripe papaya I also used banana (as base),low fat milk and honey to make this sweet silky delight. And believe me this smoothie is a great way to start your day.

Now let me tell you the health benefits of this smoothie. Papaya & banana both support healthy digestion and aid in weight loss. Both papaya and banana have high amount of dietary fiber, which relieves bloating. As the fiber content is high so you will feel fuller for longer.

Bananas are high in potassium and pectin,a form of fiber. They also contain magnesium Vitamin C & Vitamin B6.Bananas are high in antioxidants which can provide protection from free radicals.Bananas are known to reduce swelling, protect against developing type 2 diabetes, aid in weight loss, strengthen the nervous system & help with production of WBC (white blood cells),all due to the high level of B6.

Papaya contains an enzyme called papain which helps in digestion thus prevents constipation. It is rich source of antioxidants, phytonutrients and flavonoid that make it highly beneficial to protect from cancers. It also contains Vitamin C, Vitamin A & Betacarotene. With high amount of antioxidants it increases immune system function and also protects heart from damage caused by free radicals.

Now let’s move on to my recipe-

Ingredients-

To get best possible taste use ripe papaya and ripe banana

  • Papaya-1 and 1/2 cup chopped(to make thick smoothie)
  • Ripe banana-1 medium sized
  • Chilled low fat milk -200ml
  • Honey -1tbsp
  • Few ice cubes

Note: If you like to have thin smoothie then add only 1cup of chopped papaya and 1/2 of the ripe banana and you can increase the amount of milk by 60ml (60 ml= 1/4 cup).

Method-

  1. Wash, peel the skin, cut the papaya and scoop out the seeds.Cut it into cubes.
  2. Boil, cool and chill the low fat milk in the refrigerator.
  3. Peel and Chop the ripe banana.
  4. Add  into the mixer, papaya cubes, chopped banana, honey and 1/3rd of the total amount of milk.
  5. Grind into a smooth paste. Then add remaining milk to that and run the mixer just for a few seconds.
  6. Pour it into a glass and serve topped with honey.

Add papaya cubes and chopped banana in to the mixer and make a smooth paste

Add remaining milk and run for a few seconds

Delicious smoothie is ready to serve 😋

You can also double or triple the amount of the ingredients and make a big batch of smoothie.

I hope you all like it.Please do try it and let me know how it came out.

Happy cooking 😃
